Who we Serve
The at risk and underserved youth and young adult community ages 10 - 25 in Memphis TN.
What We Do!
Through our strategically curated programs in the Media Arts we provide young people with skills that allow them to tell their stories, express their emotions, and find new pathways to success.
Esports & gAMING
Our gaming program introduces students to the world of e-gaming, focusing on competitive gaming and the skills needed to excel in tournaments. Participants engage in team-based play, strategy development, and performance analysis, with exposure to potential career opportunities in the e-sports industry. The program fosters teamwork, critical thinking, and discipline through a dynamic, competitive environment.
Photography
Our photography program teaches students the art of visual storytelling, helping them capture their unique perspectives through the lens. Participants learn technical skills such as camera operation, lighting, and composition while using photography as a powerful outlet for self-expression. The program encourages creativity and provides a foundation for potential careers in photography and media.
Podcasting
The podcasting program empowers students to share their voices by teaching the fundamentals of audio production, content creation, and storytelling. Participants develop skills in recording, editing, and publishing podcasts, allowing them to explore important issues and personal experiences. This program promotes communication, creativity, and builds confidence in speaking.

your help
The average annual cost to effectively run Goodwin Village’s creative media programs is approximately $9,590 per student, based on a program serving 30 youth and young adults. Our current annual budget of $299,700 includes stipends for mentors and coaches, equipment for photography, videography, podcasting, and gaming, as well as mental health resources. This investment is designed to both equip our participants with critical media skills and address the mental health challenges they face, helping break the cycle of poverty and violent crime in our community.
